The 2025 Kansas Journal of Law & Public Policy Symposium, titled "Cities of Tomorrow: Legal Approaches to Urban Health and Sustainability,” will feature keynote addresses from scholars and practitioners exploring innovative legal and policy strategies to create healthier, more sustainable cities. Speakers will address a range of topics including environmental challenges in urban areas; public transit and mobility; and structural issues of race, class and geography that shape economic development and urban policy.

In his presentation, Chris Allen will explain, in plain language, how so many American cities have found themselves in decline after decades of “growth.” He’ll then share a revolutionary way forward that could create enduring prosperity — if we just have the courage to change our minds.
