City of Norman Hosts First Community Action Lab Workshop February 27

[NORMAN, OKLAHOMA] — The first of three Community Action Lab workshops will begin Monday, February 27, at the Norman City Hall (201 West Gray Street). The main event at 6:30 p.m., open to all community members, will feature a presentation from Strong Towns Founder and President Charles Marohn, followed by a Q&A about city development and the Community Action Lab project.

On Tuesday, February 28, the workshop continues, with local stakeholders and city staff convening to study resilient city-building practices and discuss issues that are relevant to Norman.

The purpose of the Community Action Lab is to change the conversation about how Norman is built. During this two-year project, the city of Norman will invite community members and stakeholders to help create an approach to development that will make the city and its residents more resilient for generations to come.

Strong Towns is a non-profit media advocacy organization that publishes articles, studies, courses and other resources to reveal the weaknesses of the Suburban Experiment and help people make their communities more financially sustainable.

Norman community members are invited to participate by attending the workshops and/or filling out a short survey about local issues at strongtowns.org/norman.
