How to Build Incrementally
“How did they know how to build this place? They just copied what had worked for thousands and thousands of years. They looked around at the materials they had and they said, “How do we build what we know works?””
Over the past 60 years, we have built millions of developments that we cannot afford to maintain. Cities of the past built themselves much more affordably than we do now; we can learn from them.
The following video explains what incremental development looks like and how we can return to this way of building. It's part of a series called the Curbside Chat. If you've been a member of Strong Towns for a while, you're probably familiar with it. If not, it's time to acquaint yourself.
